Greensboro Public Library

Greensboro Public Library, Central BranchGreensboro Public Library consists of a central library and six branches.  The central library, pictured to the right, is located in downtown Greensboro across from the Children's Museum and adjacent to the Greensboro Cultural Arts Center, home of Art Quest.  In November 2007, voters in Greensboro approved a bond to build a new branch in Lake Jeanette and renovate two of the existing branches.

The newly renovated Benjamin Branch library is a real Benjamin Branch Library, Guilford Hills, Greensboro, NCretreat.  Located in the heart of the Guilford Hills neighborhood, this convenient location now features an open design with tons of natural sunlight, more computers and a great children's area. 

The library offers many programs for all ages.  One City, One Book, guest authors and speakers and computer classes are just a few of the events sponsored for adults.  For children, the library offers weekly story times, movie showings and a summer reading program where they can earn prizes just for reading. 

Parking is available at metered spaces in front of the library and in a parking garage.  Parking is free on the weekends and has a nominal fee during the week.  If you take your garage ticket into the library, they will validate to waive part of the parking fee.  The branches a scattered throughout Greensboro and feature different themes, including an arts branch and an environmental education branch.  Check out the Greensboro Public Library website for more information and construction updates.  

Library cards are free to residents of Guilford County.  Just take something with your current address such as a driver's license, checkbook or bill sent to your address to any of the seven library locations.
