Bog Gardens

Looking for a great place in Greensboro, NC to get away from it all but don't have much time?  Visit the beautiful Bog Gardens, off of Starmount Forest Drive and Hobbs Road.  This oasis is literally in the shadow of the bustling Friendly Center.   

Maps and information are available as you enter the gardens.  The elevated boardwalk paths make it an easy, pleasant walk for anyone.  The boardwalk runs parallel to a creek which is home to Mallards and other water fowl.  Bridges allow you to easily cross over the creek to the other side of the boardwalk.  Benches are scattered along the path for those who would like to sit and enjoy the natural surroundings.  After a short walk, the boardwalk cantilevers over the lake.  Numerous benches make this a perfect place for a picnic while enjoying the view. 

Once you are finished checking out the lake, loop around the boardwalk and listen for the sound of rushing water.  Just off the beaten path, you will find Serenity Falls.  This tranquil setting is a great place for photos. It is no wonder why so many weddings have taken place in this stunning location.  Reservations start at just $100/hour, with a two hour minimum.  For a complete information, take a look at the Outdoor Weddings brochure. 

Greensboro Beautiful, in partnership with a local physician, Dr. Joe Christian, are credited with creating this haven. Great care has been taken to reclaim this once neglected area.  Many of wide variety of flora have been transplanted after being rescued from other locations.  This is truly a jewel in the center of our city.
